Three reasons for India and Pakistan to have separate Independence day

This post refers this article from Wikipedia.

Three reasons cited there are

  • Lord Mountbatten wanted to attend the handing over ceremony in both places(Lahore and Delhi)
  • Pakistan did not want to celebrate Independence day on the same day as India

The third reason cited below does not seem to be true. Pakistan did not adopt a new time zone till 1956.

  • Pakistan and Bangladesh adopted new time zones

    Pakistan Standard Time (PST) was not present during the days of partition and all of British India followed the same time standard. The Pakistan Standard Time was adopted in 1956.
